About
Lily Lyor Askenazi (b. 1990, Paris, France) is a screenwriter, script editor, and translator. Her French upbringing, mixed with Middle Eastern, North African and Eastern European heritage, has always compelled her to mediate between cultures within her storytelling. Writing in both English and French, her narrative work focuses on coming-of-age stories. They address living and growing up in community while contending with the complexity of mental health issues and the power plays of intimacy.
In 2021, a short she co-wrote premiered at both Tribeca and Raindance film festivals after winning the best short screenplay for Shore Scripts 2018 and the Atlanta Film Fest Screenplay competition in 2019.
She holds an MA in screenwriting from the London Film School (2015) and a BA in English Literature from King’s College London (2011).
